December 1982...that’s the first time I remember seeing rows of glossy magazines in the stands.
It was at the airport- it was the day we were moving to America and I was 5.
Those figures seemed too plastic and distant - they didn’t have anything in common with me or my family. We really struggled for those first few years but honestly, what gifts life struggles teach you, right?
Through the years I became acutely aware of the quote “strive to be someone of value not someone of success”. I think we all have value to offer to the world, don’t be afraid to share it. Once you help people get healthy or successful or just happy - that’s creating value.
So no matter if you’re old short poor female fat tall black white Indian Chinese Hispanic ...you are valuable - share it.
