Day 46 of the 60 Day Ultimate Optimization Challenge

Day 46 is here Optimizers!!

Have you heard of “hormone replacement therapy”? It was routinely used by doctors to treat menopausal symptoms, but recent clinical studies showed many health risks. That’s why it’s relatively unknown or talked about today…

But I think you should know a few things about it:

What is it: Hormone replacement therapy is medication that contains female hormones estrogen and progesterone.

How does it work: You take the medication to replace the estrogen that your body stops making, often caused by menopause or perimenopause. Hormone therapy is most often used to treat common menopausal symptoms.

The consensus: Many suggest against hormonal therapy, because they are against long-term hormonal therapy after a certain age. If you are younger—in the 45 to 60 range—it may be something to consider. Speak to your doctor for possible short term use, if needed.

Your homework for today is to: Have a conversation about HRT with your doctor.
