Day 40 of the 60 Day Ultimate Optimization Challenge

Welcome to Day #40 of the 60-Day Ultimate Optimization Challenge!

Did you know that exercise is not only good for your body, but it's amazing for your mental health and mood as well. Say hello to exercise and goodbye to stress!

Exercise does two important things to reduce stress.

It reduces levels of the body's stress hormones—adrenaline (which increases your heart rate, elevates your blood pressure and boosts energy supplies) and cortisol (which is the primary stress hormone and increases glucose in the bloodstream).

It also stimulates the production of endorphins—chemicals in the brain that are the body's natural painkillers and mood elevators.

Research has shown that regular participation in aerobic activity decreases tension, elevates mood and improves sleep. Even five minutes of aerobic exercise can stimulate anti-anxiety effects.

My tip is to pick something you enjoy, whether it’s tennis, walking or dancing. It’s good to challenge yourself to improve your cardiovascular health but try to choose something you like so that you get those stress counteracting chemicals.

Your homework for today is to: Pick one type of movement that you absolutely love and do it today!
